Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Lumini, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of the service

Lumini creates AI-personalized children's stories in which the user's family becomes a character. Stories are narrated by the storyteller Nina, with a real human voice, and built on a pedagogical framework validated by child psychology.

3. Eligibility

Only people aged 18 or older may create an account. The service is intended for use by children under the supervision and responsibility of an adult. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 and have the legal capacity to accept these Terms.

4. Account and user responsibilities

• You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity on your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for supervising children who use the service under your account.
• Parent Mode is PIN-protected to separate the adult environment from Child Mode.

5. Plans, payments, and refunds

Trial and plans

• A 14-day free trial with full Premium access, no card required.
• Free plan: 3 complete stories per month, with narration and interactivity.
• Plus plan: unlimited stories with narration.
• Premium plan: everything in Plus, plus illustrations and PDF export (when available).

Automatic renewal

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly or annual), charged to your chosen payment method, until you cancel. Prices may vary by region and are shown at the time of purchase.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from your account settings (web) or the app store (mobile). Paid access remains available until the end of the period already paid for; you are not charged after cancellation.

Refunds

Refunds follow applicable consumer-protection law and the rules of the app store (Apple App Store / Google Play) for purchases made through those channels. For web purchases, contact us and we will review your case.

6. Intellectual property

The stories generated for your family are yours for personal, non-commercial use. You may freely read, listen to, and keep them in a family context.

The Lumini brand, the Nina character, the narrated voice, the pedagogical framework, the software, and all platform elements belong to Lumini and are protected by intellectual property rights. You may not copy, resell, commercially redistribute, or create derivative products from these elements without authorization.

7. Acceptable use and prohibitions

You agree NOT to:

• Use the service for illegal or harmful purposes.
• Attempt to generate inappropriate, offensive, or child-endangering content.
• Enter third-party data without authorization.
• Attempt to bypass plan limits, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the security of the service.
• Resell or commercially exploit the service without authorization.

8. AI-generated content — important notice

Stories are generated by artificial intelligence from the information provided by the parent. Although we apply pedagogical validation and safety filters, the content is generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies. We recommend adult supervision.

Light Therapeutic Mode is a supportive narrative tool for emotional support and does NOT replace psychological, medical, or professional care. If a child shows signs of distress, please consult a qualified professional.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lumini is provided "as is." We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law, including consumer rights.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access in case of a breach of these Terms or use that endangers other users, children, or the service. After termination, data is handled according to the Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.

12. Dispute resolution

In the event of any dispute, please first contact us at hello@meetlumini.com — most matters are resolved amicably. Unresolved disputes will be submitted to the competent courts in Australia, subject to your statutory consumer rights.

13. Changes to the terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When there are material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
